Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineering
About the Role
You will shape the design, reliability, and scalability of a modern cloud infrastructure platform. You will architect, build, and operate resilient AWS environments; evolve Kubernetes and platform services for secure multi-region operations; define and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards; automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring pipelines; establish observability and SLOs; lead incident reviews and root-cause analysis; optimize cost, performance, and fault tolerance; mentor engineers; and contribute to the platform roadmap.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles
- Deep expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and production cluster management
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane, or AWS CDK
- Proficiency in scripting or programming with Python, Bash, or Go
- Working knowledge of managed database services such as Amazon RDS, Aurora, or PostgreSQL
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and operate resilient, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Lead the evolution of Kubernetes and platform services for secure, automated, multi-region operations
- Define and enforce Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform, AWS CDK, and Crossplane
- Drive automation across provisioning, configuration, and monitoring pipelines
- Establish and champion reliability, observability, and performance standards and SLOs
- Partner with product engineering to improve CI/CD velocity and service resilience
- Lead incident reviews, perform root-cause analyses, and embed learnings into runbooks and design
- Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and fault tolerance
- Mentor and upskill engineers and influence architectural direction
