Technical Writer
About the Role
You will translate complex DeFi and Synthetix protocol concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation. You will write and maintain user guides, API documentation, tutorials, and developer resources; create and enforce a documentation style guide; gather and validate technical information from developers and product managers; update docs based on protocol changes and user feedback; participate in community channels to address documentation questions; and coordinate with marketing to align technical content with communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in technology or finance
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology and DeFi concepts
- Experience with documentation tools and content management systems
- Proficiency in Markdown and HTML
- Familiarity with API documentation and developer-focused content
- Experience with GitHub and version control systems
- Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple language
- Experience creating documentation for multiple audience levels (end-users, developers, institutional clients)
- Preferred: understanding of Solidity or other smart contract languages
- Preferred: knowledge of SEO best practices for technical content
- Preferred: experience with data visualization tools for diagrams and flowcharts
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including user guides, API documentation, and developer resources
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to gather and validate technical information
- Develop and maintain a consistent documentation style guide
- Write clear explanations of DeFi and Synthetix concepts for diverse audiences
- Update and improve existing documentation based on user feedback and protocol updates
- Create tutorials and how-to guides for users and developers
- Contribute educational content about Synthetix and related DeFi concepts
- Ensure documentation accuracy and alignment with the latest protocol developments
- Coordinate technical content with marketing communications
- Participate in community channels to gather insights and address documentation queries
