Technical Game Designer
About the Role
You will design and implement core gameplay systems and progression mechanics, own features end-to-end from ideation to implementation, write clear design specifications for developers, prototype and playtest features, iterate based on data and player feedback, and balance economies and combat systems.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of professional game design experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Game Design or related field
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, system design, and player psychology
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and structured design documentation
- Experience working with game engines, preferably Unity
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret metrics and feedback to iterate on designs
- Collaborative and proactive with comfort working in a fast-paced team environment
- Passion for battle royale and competitive multiplayer games
- Experience designing for multiplayer shooters or live-ops driven games
- Experience balancing combat systems, character abilities, or economies
- Familiarity with scripting or prototyping tools
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior designers and cross-disciplinary teams to design and implement core gameplay systems, progression mechanics, and live events
- Own features end-to-end from ideation and documentation to prototyping, implementation, playtesting, and iteration
- Translate high-level design goals into clear actionable design specs for the development team
- Balance gameplay systems through data-driven iteration, player feedback, and playtesting
- Analyze competitor titles and incorporate trends from Battle Royale, Extraction, and multiplayer shooters
- Contribute to player experience flows and economy balancing
- Ensure features align with the game's vision, tone, and player-first philosophy
